The participant lookup (
direct_v2/threads/get_by_participants/) answered without athread: the server named no conversation for these people. Server-decided, so typed. Not observed in any recording — the recorded 1:1 run's lookup names a (deleted) conversation; the owner's model (2026-10-24) is that the server names the conversation a picked person opens, so this answer ends the open and the picker stays on top.
